About Farley Court

An age-exclusive block of flats for independent people over 60 – working, retired, active.

Farley Court is a well-maintained face brick block set in a tranquil corner of suburban Farnborough, surrounded by mature oak trees. Built in 1985, there are 35 self-contained, 1- and 2-bedroom, long term leasehold flats, over 3 floors.

It is one of the few remaining blocks that still has a fully trained, on-site house manager to ensure your independence for as long as possible. The site is accessible, with lift and stair lift(s), and support includes careline alarm service for those who need it.

Communal spaces include lounge, laundry, guest facilities and landscaped garden.

Live at Farley Court

Some residents are still working, with a few regularly commuting into London. Some residents volunteer locally. Some residents bake bread and some choose to potter about in the garden. Residents live independently and engage with their neighbours as much, or as little, as they choose.

Normal life really. Through a friendly filter.

Regular on-site, community led social activities – keep fit, bingo, book club, music appreciation, card evenings, coffee mornings, Christmas dinner – make it easy for residents to “age in place”.

Rightsize the way you live early. Future proof your independence.

Pick a home that fits the way you live now, not the way you lived twenty years ago. Don’t wait until a crisis forces change upon you. Slowing down shouldn’t mean increasing isolation, fading into invisibility. Unlock freedom, simplicity, and a lifestyle that truly works for you.

Resident Stories

“I was nervous I’d be too young to live in an old age home, but this is nothing of the sort! Living here has freed up energy from looking after stuff, to heaps of energy for working, socialising, travel, local clubs. Knowing that I won’t need to move as my needs change is such a relief.” – Violet, resident

“We moved to Farley Court from the midlands, to be closer to family. I thought it would be hard to leave behind our home and everything familiar, but the support was tremendous during Len’s illness and passing. Now I have friends, activities, and peace of mind. It feels like family here.” – Margaret, resident

“When my wife died I felt lost and aimless, drifting into depression. Now I feel alive again, engaged, valuable, ready to embrace the next, different, stage of life.” – David, resident

“Knowing Mum is safe and happy makes all the difference. She went badly downhill during the lockdowns. She’s more social now than ever.” – Henry, family member

“We sold up and moved while it was still our choice, not a necessity. It feels like someone lifted a weight off our shoulders. Making the move gave us exactly what we wanted: less house, more life. It’s been liberating!” – Peter & June, residents

Our Management Team

Independence for residents, independence for Farley Court!

Farley Court, together with Devereux House, has been managed by the Farnborough & Cove War Memorial Hospital Trust Ltd since 1985, when it was first built.

We are now entering an exciting new era. Residents are working towards purchasing the Freehold of Farley Court and self-managing going forward. Farley Court (Farnborough) LTD has been incorporated to take over management by the end of 2026. With the support and assistance of the Trust, guard rails have been set in place to ensure a successful transition to independence for Farley Court.

We are extraordinarily fortunate to have the commitment and backing of Farnborough & Cove War Memorial Hospital Trust Ltd. Having managed Farley Court successfully for forty years, Trustees are personally invested in the welfare of residents.

More about the guard rails:

  • Our ethos is community based – all for one, one for all.
  • Ownership of Farley Court (Farnborough) LTD attaches to the flats and transfers with sale, to ensure that residents always have a say in decision making that affects them.
  • In honour of our charity foundations, some of the Trustees sit on the new Board of Directors, with succession plans into the future, to advise, guide, mediate, and ensure the welfare of all residents at all times.
  • To further support a seamless transition to independence, we attended Trust meetings for a year before handover, and Trustees will attend our meetings for a year after handover.
  • Farley Court (Farnborough) LTD is self-funded, not for profit. Operation and management of Farley Court is entirely for the benefit of residents, constrained by the articles of association and the terms of the lease. There is no free-for-all.
  • Day to day management is in the hands of on-site staff, assuring continuity and stability.

Our house manager is always happy to chat or point you in the right direction if you have any questions.
